Phlo|ro|glu|cin, Phlo|ro|glu|ci|nol [griech. phloiós = Bast, Rinde u. rhíza = Wurzel; ↑ Glyk-, ↑ -in (3) u. ↑ -ol (1)], das; -s; Syn.: 1,3,5-Trihydroxybenzol, Benzol-1,3,5-triol: H3C6(OH)3; farblose, süß schmeckende krist. Verb., Smp. 220 °C (wasserfrei), die für org. Synthesen, in der Kopiertechnik u. als analytisches Farbreagenz von Nutzen ist. P. kann auch als Cyclohexan-1,3,5-trion (Ketoform, ↑ Keto-Enol-Tautomerie) reagieren.

Phloroglucin
 
[Kurzwort] das, -s, dreiwertiges, mit Pyrogallol isomeres Phenol (chemisch das Benzol-1,3,5-triol), eine kristalline, farblose Substanz, die sich im Licht verfärbt. Phloroglucin kommt gebunden in einigen Pflanzenstoffen (Flavone, Gerbstoffe) vor. Synthetisch erzeugtes Phloroglucin wird u. a. zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen verwendet. Die salzsaure alkoholische Lösung des Phloroglucins gibt mit Lignin eine Rotfärbung und wird zum Ligninnachweis verwendet.
